What this calculator does
This calculator estimates the profit or loss from a crypto trade using your entry price, exit price, investment amount, and trading fee. It shows dollar profit or loss, percentage return, and estimated proceeds after fees.
Inputs and results
Purchase price per coin is the entry price. Selling price per coin is the exit price. Investment amount is the cash amount committed to the trade. Trading fee per trade is applied once on entry and once on exit.
Profit or loss is estimated proceeds minus the original investment. Return on investment compares that profit or loss with the original investment. Estimated proceeds are the amount left after selling and paying the exit fee.
How the calculation works
The entry fee reduces the amount used to buy coins. The calculator divides the fee-adjusted investment by the purchase price to estimate coin quantity. It then multiplies coins by the selling price and subtracts the exit fee to estimate proceeds.
Worked example
With a $1,000 investment, $100 buy price, $120 sell price, and 1% fee on each trade, the entry fee leaves $990 to buy coins. Selling those coins at $120 and subtracting the exit fee gives about $1,176.12 in proceeds, or about $176.12 profit.
